Autumn 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting seasons for BMW fans in recent years. While the Neue Klasse continues its winning streak, MINI is also shaking up its model lineup, and BMW Motorrad is using concept vehicles to show where things are heading long-term. BMW: The Neue Klasse rolls out.

The big highlight of the autumn is undoubtedly the BMW i3 (NA0). The first sedan based on the Neue Klasse has already been unveiled, production in Munich starts in August – with first customer deliveries following in autumn. The i3 50 xDrive is planned as the launch variant, with European customers being supplied first.

At the same time, the BMW X5 (G65) is waiting in the wings. The fifth generation of the premium SUV celebrates its debut in autumn 2026 – initially with classic combustion engines only. A fully electric iX5 won't follow until 2027, with a hydrogen model expected to join in 2028.

The iX3 is also moving forward in the second half of the year: the iX3 40 brings a more affordable rear-wheel-drive variant as an entry-level model, while an extended long-wheelbase version (NA6) is being prepared for the Chinese market.

Anyone already looking further ahead should keep an eye on the X1 and X2. Both series are getting a thorough update with a new infotainment architecture – the unveiling is expected around late 2026 or early 2027. After the fully revamped model lines of recent years – three-door, Countryman, Aceman, convertible, and JCW – MINI is taking a calmer season in 2026. The first half of the year already saw attention with the special MINI Paul Smith edition, featuring exclusive colors like Statement Grey and Inspired White.

The real autumn highlight is a new family member: an off-road Countryman with more ground clearance and grippier tires is currently being tested in the Rocky Mountains and is set to debut in October 2026 as a 2027 model-year vehicle. This marks MINI's first consistent expansion of the Countryman family toward outdoor and overlanding use.

Design chief Holger Hampf also raised eyebrows, saying the facelifts for the Cooper and Countryman are "almost finished," while also announcing a further off-roader and an even more extreme JCW. The Aceman won't get its update until 2028.

BMW Motorrad: Entry-level model meets visions of the future

At BMW Motorrad, much of 2026 revolves around expanding the entry-level segment. The only genuinely new model at EICMA was the F 450 GS – a full-fledged GS in the 48-hp class that translates typical GS DNA into a more compact, lighter format, specifically targeting new and returning riders.

Anyone who'd rather look to the future will find what they're after in the Vision K18: on May 15, 2026, at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, BMW showed this one-off with an enlarged 1,800cc inline six-cylinder engine based on the K1600, hand-formed aluminum bodywork, and carbon elements – a clear hint at where the brand's touring-motorcycle segment could be headed.

A retro roadster based on the R18 engine has also already been spotted uncamouflaged in Munich; production readiness is expected by 2027 at the latest. Rounding out the picture is the sporty Concept RR with around 220 hp and technology borrowed from Superbike World Championship racing, along with the Vision CE scooter offering a glimpse of future urban mobility solutions.
