Dieser ermöglicht freihändiges Fahren auf Autobahnen bis 130 km/h und übernimmt sowohl die Längs- als auch die Querführung, inklusive automatisierter Spurwechsel nach Blickbestätigung. Mit aktiver Zielführung über BMW Maps begleitet das System den Fahrer durchgehend – von der Autobahnauffahrt bis zur Abfahrt. Die neue 3D-Ansicht macht dabei laufend sichtbar, dass und wie das System aktiv die Fahraufgabe übernimmt.

Wichtig für alle, die das System einsetzen möchten: BMW Maps mit Fahrerassistenz ist nur in Kombination mit dem Autobahnassistenten oder dem Autobahn- & City-Assistenten verfügbar, und das zunächst nur in ausgewählten Ländern, Städten und Strassen.
